Unity in BioDiversity

Welcome to INDONESIA
Indonesia is a tropical country which located on the Equatorial line, stretched  more than 5,000 miles, take a  seat on a globe from West to East between Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean, flag to the entire worlds from North to South between Asian continent and Australia. (the picture above is a beach scenery in Kalianda, South Lampung District where we could find a wooden made canoe owned by fishermen)

Indonesia is s the world’s largest archipelago state which consist of about 17,508 islands; 6,000 of these are inhabited. There are 5 main islands and 30 smaller archipelagoes. The 5  main islands are Sumatra, Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi, Java and Papua(Irian Jaya-the western half of New Guinea).    

Situated along the volcanic rim known as “PACIFIC RING of FIRE”, is the most volcanic country on earth with 128 volcanoes. The most active volcano in Indonesia is Mt. Krakatau which is known for its legendary huge eruption in August 1883, the picture below is the child of Krakatau (anak Krakatau) which emerged on the sea surface since 1926.The landscape varies from island to island, ranging from high mountains and plateau to coastal lowlands and alluvial belts.

Indonesian  National Motto is : UNITY IN (BIO) DIVERSITY  for it was a home to several animals and plants species which  Wildlife Conservation Society (WCF) was recorded as  17% of all the world’s BIRDS SPECIES, 12% of all THE MAMMALS, 16% of all THE REPTILES and AMPHIBIANS and an AMAZING 33% of the world’s INSECTS.

A  wellknown species of Fauna were Orang Utans, Komodo Dragons, one-horned Rhinoceros, Anoas and Babi Rusa .  A long and stretched White-Sand beaches facing a warm tropical seas which also offer a summer sandy beaches, a beautiful scenery of sunset and a marvelous variety of coral and marine life

Indonesia is the  most populous country in the worlds ( with population of about 220 millions as 2007). More than 480 ethnic groups which display a rich variety of customs, religions (Moslem, Hinduism, Buddhism, Catholic and Protestant) and languages (approximately 583) and dialects
